History: After taking many years off from the hobby, finishing college (barely), moved to NYC, and got back into the game with a hi-tech planted 9G Rimless. After a few months, realized it wasn't going to cut it. Had kept breeding cichlids, FOWLR, and softies in college while working 3 jobs to feed this crazy addiction and wanted to do things better this time around.

Present day: Converted the planted ADA 9Gto a pico/nano. Found a used 34G Solana for a steal and got it going mid-Sept 2017. 4 months and many many lessons later....this is my reefing story.

Really miss my Mocha Davinci and blue dot jawfish but you live & learn. Lost the blue dot after 2 months and the Davinci succumbed to Brooklynella after 3 months.

Sucked it up and learned how to build my first aquarium stand/first DIY wood project.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/71ee4d39ac13fe19be49f14c189f9d01.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/253f662aa4fb30e596924f16fb30eb6f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/afb23a66daebc7c1890675b2f530cebd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/c758184d30186d1866b2ccb5bfabd47c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/98f4dacbba81f5d045e6a67c02b602bf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/1a4f16f73f7efd76246d91a2dbd84ce4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/a5b8f9e37d5c1464acfd43d2d4e6d876.jpg

Still suspect my hawknose was a carrier of Brooklynella and became immune somehow...Lost a couple of Chromis and a royal gramma in the process

Really should let my tank run fallow to ensure any parasites are done but can't bear to sell or move the Hawkfish.

Present day after 4 months. Still very much in a frag/mini colony stage but getting there. Began adding kalk to my ATO bc these LPS/SPS were wrecking my parameters. Still no skimmer/reactors..Just Marine Pure balls, lots of rubble, and filter floss. TRYING TO UPGRADE TO A 50/60G with a sump soon.

Livestock/Coral:
-Longnose Hawkfish
-Diamond Sand Sifting Goby
-Green Chromis (1)

-Purple Tip Hammer (2 head)
-Neon Green Torch (2 head)
-Ugly Frogspawn (1.5 head)
-PS Brown Gorgonian
-PS Golden Gorgonian frag
-NPS Yellow Gorgonian
-Orange Mush, Green Mush
-Rainbow Acan (2.5 head)
-Neon Green Bubble
-Zoanthis- Rasta(10+), GOW (~5), Flaming embers (~3)
-Neon Candy Cane
-Pocillopora (1.5 frag)
-Dragons Breath

*Edit to above -had 3 Chromis during the time of the pic.

Finally found a good centerpiece to balance all the green. Got an awesome layering mini colony of Red Monti from a Manhattan Reef member! Was really the final touch this nano reef needed for now Also added a dope birdsnest mini colony.

Future plans include reproprogating a few zoas while keeping a close eye on the Torch (impulse buy)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/6909e21e3400c69c9c4f70f6b6579261.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/4e75f771073ee076edcd6b47f52cdc26.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/35eb5c3da1daf7901b2eb656cacca4fa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/06cb0e216319f6de68447bf5f68aecf0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/855eff4f21e7b01c4891262b98ac4dc1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180110/f2e297a4b077f104877060525c02ceef.jpg

Wow! Nice! How old is the tank now? The corals have filled in nicely

great looking tank. You really got the colors to pop.To be honest, the side views are true actinic 2 hours before shutoff. The FTS was filtered by Google Photos. The way I see it is, for those of us who understand & appreciate the full potential of our corals, the last FTS is an idealistic picture of our knowledge.

Great pics! The longnose hawkfish is adorable whether or not he has disease haha.. Can't wait to see what you do with a bigger tank as this one is already so well balanced.
