Good evening.
This is my first post.
I have a question regarding calcium. My calcium is running around 600, but everything else appears to be very stable. In fact, this is where my calcium consistently runs. Alk 3.6 meq/l, salinity 1.026, ph 8.2-8.3, no phosphates, .3 nitrates. All are tested with saliferts.
Should I be trying to bring down Ca, even if everything else appears to be inline?
No Ca dosing. Thanks

600 is high - particularly with no dosing. What salt are you using? Are you sure your test results are accurate?

600 ppm is high, if the test is correct, but should be safe enough. Personally, I would ignore the level for the time being.

The only practical way to lower the calcium level is water changes. Have you measured some freshly-mixed saltwater? Some salt mixes come with a high calcium level, and sometimes the salt will settle badly during shipment. I agree that the kit might have a problem, as well. A second opinion might be useful, if you're worried.

Using reef crystals.
I will see if the LFS will test it for me.
Thanks

Reef Crystals shouldn't be quite that high in calcium. Let's see what the LFS says.

What test are you using to determine it? My Calcium test only goes to 500 :P

For most test kits, you can use two syringes of the titrant, and add the results.
