She’s in a 10 by herself and I’m trying to combine tanks into bigger ones so I was wondering if she’d be ok... 225 has just two small snowflake morays and two green spotted puffers and one hermit bigger than her who could be moved if needed... I’d make sure to keep her and everyone else well fed... was just worried about when she molts if the eels would go after her... :/

I’ve had one in a 50 gallon with a clown pair and several damsels. He didn’t do anything to them. The second Chiragra I had her in a 10 with some damsels and she never bothered them either. I think it’s hit or miss with their personalities. But again had several different mantis shrimp in fish tanks and all okay. If you just keep their favorite food available IMO I would think you would be okay

Yeah I figured there’s enough room...

I’d be more worried about the mantis getting eaten.

Eels & Puffers are predators to crustaceans.

Proceed at your own risk.

P.S. In a 225G tank with a 9cm mantis you probably won't see it much, know when it get's eaten by an eel most likely...

I have a g. Chiragra and I just recently bought a new 24 g tank to transfer her into once I get it set up. Has anyone transferred their Chiragra to another tank? If so, how did you do it?

The snowflake eels are tiny, about a pencil thickness. I did see her yesterday, I’ll try to get her out :/ was just tired of having a 10g just for her, but I’ll try her in another tank with fish that wouldn’t go after her

We hear her smacking rocks sometimes and I just saw her out grabbing food, flew back into a rock as soon as I saw her lol

She cracks me up! I love knowing where she is. I think she showed the eels who is boss of that space!

The snowflake eels will probably be a problem in the long run, when they get bigger they tend to get more angry, so the mantis shrimp may look more appetizing. Chiragras are pretty heavy hitters tho so for now it should hold it’s own. I would consider another thank for it in the future.
