View Full Version : Why is my blue-neon damsel digging holes everywhere?

I have had a blue-neon damsel (slight yellowish in the tail, but otherwise shiny blue). It started by making a hole in the corner of the sandbed, but now he/she is really starting making a mess everywhere. The sandbed is a little over 1" and he will use his tail to burrow literally down to the bottom, tossing the fine oolithe all over the place. At first it was not a big deal, but now when I come home there is sand all over my corals which I have to take the powerhead to blow it off. If I move the sand into place, the next day the process starts all over again!:headwallblue:

Damsels, like clowns, can dig like this as nesting behavior. It's just a natural behavior, sorry.
