Hello all. I have a ton of these little creatures throughout my live rock and sand bed. They average about 3 mm long retracted, but extend into a single sweeper tentacle with hairs to about 1"-1.5". They are anchored at one and don't seem to migrate. They mostly mostly extend at night.

Can anyone help with an id?

Thanks!

I'm attempting to attach pics but may be downsized to much to identify once posted.

Sounds like a type of tube worm, it's hard to say for sure without seeing them, if they are worms, no worries, beneficial filter feeders.

Looks like a Chaetopterid worm?

If that's what it is, I've read posts about them spreading pretty badly, but I have no experience with them, maybe remove them just to be safe.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I figured out what they are, Digitate Hydroids. Unfortunatly the news is not very good.

I've found some old posts using kalk to get rid of them or just let them go and they will eventually die off. Are there any new methods out there for getting rid of them?
