I will be getting a Naso that is 8-9 inches. My current qt is a 20 long. I'm thinking this is too small. What is the minimum qt size for a fish this size? he will be the only one in qt. Also, I know they say don't put live rock in qt, but I have quite a bit of cured pukani that doesn't fit in my tank. Would it be ok to put it in qt or would it cause problems. I understand it could never be used again if I medicate.

It's too small, IMO, for anything longer than tank transfer method.

I would either:
Get another 20 Long. Do tank transfer with prazi, then into the display.
Or get a bigger quarantine.

I just ran a 9" naso through QT and used a 40B. Seemed ok. Agree 20L would be too small.

40g or 55g would work much better than the 20L

I always wondered about quarantining large fish, since my tank is 40 gallons. Could you use a brute container or some other storage item?

Found a 55 with a hood for $50. Worried a brute would make it hard to see what’s going on if it got sick or skinny. Thanks for the input. My wife will love more aquarium stuff taking up the room lol
