Hi all....just got a new prime hd light fixture...my question is.... I made a lid for my aquairum to avoid evaporation which will affect the salinity it being a 10gallon tank.

Will enough light still pass through the clear Perspex lid? Or Will it decrease its effectiveness?

Thanks

It will rob some light, acrylic in around 92% on light transmission.

The problem is that you are going to need to frequently need to clean the cover. Air reaching the water surface and evaporation are good things. Evaporation helps cool the tank, oxygen exchange is critical to maintaining a healthy environment for fish and corals.

Its not air tight..... there's plenty room for air to circulate
