My wrasse suicide jumped about a week ago :( assuming during tank cleaning somehow since that's when I'd have the lid off and around the time of last sighting. Hit the lfs on the way home yesterday and saw a pair of fish labled firefish gobi. I usually wouldn't add two at once but since I just lost a fish figured the bioload was auctually doable. Well, these were beautiful active fish and seem to be a pair that's been together a bit at least. I had firefish on my mental fish I can get community tank list and made the purchase. The only thing is I've never seen any with these colors before. Anyone got an idea of the breed? They seem too yellow to be purple but that's the closest I see. Thanks for the assist!388337388338

Definitely not a red (N. magnifica) or N. helfrichi.

It could be the purple (N. decora). John Randall named a new species a few years ago N. exquisita, so it could be that. Live aquaria carries them.

What was the price?

What was the price?Well amusing enough it was a 30ea 50pair deal... I wouldn't go by that though, the seller was one of the inexperienced people at this shop so they just looked up their firefish price and sold them to me..
The shop owner is knowledgeable, qt all speciments, and honestly seems to do a good job at stocking and selling good speciments and beeing knowledgeable of what he has. His employees are clueless and sell off some super deals or really horrible ones ;) I got a $25 Long tentacle since the same girl didn't know what it was lol.
$50 seemed like a decent buy so I scooped em up.

Is there a difference between the purple and exquisite? They look like some pictures of each to me but I know how pictures get mislabeled too.
Kevin, purple you say, sounds good to me.
Thanks for the input!
