I randomly found a hole in the base of my branching hammer coral. It’s not a hole but more of a hollow cylinder protruding out of the base. Should I be worried?

If it's happy and healthy I wouldn't worry.

The thing is I’m not sure it’s healthy, Ive had it for a month and there’s been noticeable growth and it extends beautifully during the day, however right before the lights turn off almost every night I notice it expells a brown stringy substance. Some say it’s poop and it’s normal, but others say it’s zooxanthellae and it’s terrible.

Do you feed it? Could help explain if it's zoox or just waste. If it's still extending and your noticing growth just keep an eye on it but still wouldn't worry much. I witnessed my torch expell something once and it's still healthy and extending everyday so I just leave it be.

That part of skeleton is dead anyways. Live tissue doesn't reach that down outside or inside.

I would not worry about it.
