Hello,

I have a few sps in a holding/qt tank which im qt'ing for 12 weeks, I have been keeping an eye on my parameters.

My Alk has lightly dropped from 8.3 to 8.0. I would need to hand dose to raise any parameter, but at what value should I raise back to 8.3, i.e. should I not let it go lower that 1dkh of where I want to keep it?

Same question regarding Mag and calcium.

You can use regular baking soda for Alk. Here are a couple of calculators:

I try to maintain within 1 dKH of my target. If it's there, I don't make any dosing adjustments.

You plan on doing any water changes?
If so thats likely to sustain it...
If not use a little baking soda as mentioned...
You usually don't want more than a .5-1dKH swing in a 24 hour period and want to keep it "stable" for the most part..

I would expect your water changes to accomplish that though at the point where you are now..

The recommended range for alkalinity is 7-11 dKH. Calcium in the 350-450 ppm range is fine, and magnesium in the 1250-1350 ppm is okay, too. This article has more:
