I've got some algae popping up here & there that I haven't seen, It is a very light tan in color and grows in a short, soft, very fine hairy mat. It grows in the light, not in shadow. It is tough and won't brush off of rocks or plastic overflow walls. Has anyone dealt with this stuff?

I really haven't done anything to eradiate it yet. The Tangs, & Hermit Crabs don't eat it. I'll probably have to do something in the future.

I "think" I know what you are talking about..
I've had it.. Its quite common in new tanks and can grow on plastic/cords really well and glass of course but stays a short peach fuzz.. Has a tan/brown/redish tinge to it..
I find its common in new tanks and goes away as the tank gets around the 8+ month mark or so provided you maintain a healthy tank..

I do not know the name of it..
And haven't seen anyone give a 100% positive ID on it from my searching
