Hi

My current reading is 1.020  (bad refrac) and I want to raise it to 1.025. I currently change the ATO to 1.025 top off water. Is it okay to say change water with 1.025 new water and if so at what percent? I have around maybe around 15 pounds of rock inside. So I assume maybe 30 gallons of waters or a little less.

Thank you any suggestion would be greatly appreciated on how to deal with this.

Whats in the tank currently livestock wise? anything?
IF nothing just add salt..
IF something just use saltwater in the ATO as you already are and just do water changes with water mixed to like 1.028 or so for a bit..

There are calculators out there if you want to be overly exacting about it..

As long as everything is OK I wouldn't even worry about it. Just stick with your current routine, mix up your water to the correct level in the future and let it work itself out over time. (water changes)

increase saltwater in your display tank 0.01 per day (like put half gallon 1.040 per day)

I top off using premixed saltwater from LFS, instead of RO water & check every other day till I reached the 1.025

I would mix the water change water a little higher and let it come up over time.

thank you for the good suggestions. It seems all my LPS corals are doing good, so I think I will take the suggestion of just let time take is place and continue with my schedule and just make the saltwater a little higher.

thanks again.
