I was wondering suggestions on flow... It will be a work in progress I wont be able to go all out buy everything at once.

Would 2 MP40s work decent for awhile? Would I be better off with 2 MP60s instead?

What about a Gyre on one end and a MP40 or 60 on the other side? Looking for suggestions. It wont be a full stock SPS tank at the start obviously.

all I can say is I try to focus on the end game. When all your coral is in there and what type you are going to keep is up to you, but that also determines the flow aswell along with how you are going to set-up the tank. (that is what i did)

In general recommended flow in a tank is from like 20x to up to 100x display tank volume for high flow bare bottom SPS only tanks..

I'm not sure if the gyres (all brands) "reliability" issues have all been ironed out at this point..

I forget...What are the dimensions of a 210?

I believe they are 6'x2'x30". 180's are 6'x2'x2' and I think the 210 is just taller.

yes the 210 will be 72" x 24" x 29" Same as 180 just 5 inches taller. So there seems to be issues with Gyres? I guess i might just stick to MP40s or 60s.

The other debate is sand or bare bottom. i like the idea of bare bottom and cranking up the flow. But I like sand.... Though I wish my current tank and cleaner sand. I also like Wrasse which like sand so I think I might stick with doing sand in this bigger tank. The main think I dont like the sand in my Cube is the flow hits the walls and blows that sand out in the corners... I'm thinking with a 6' tank I wouldnt have as much issue with the flow blasting the sides and going straight down blowing the sand around in the corner. I also get tornadoes in my cube when i try to adjust the wave makers. So im hoping it wont be as much of an issue with a 6ft long tank. Plus sand is supposed to help with extra bacteria and all that. So I think I might just go with sand.
