So wanted to ask this community about Goat Fish. I spoke with Bob on wet web media and he told me that they can handle aggressive tank mates just fine and that he didn't think they needed 4 daily feedings.

I wanted to ask you all:

1) Any argument against aggressive tank mates?

2) Do they need to be housed in pairs?

3) How much do you feed yours?

4) This is more me not understanding terminology. One site said they oxygenate the top layer of sand which reduces the sand beds nitrogen load. Do they mean that they hurt the sand beds ability to cycle ammonia or that they reduce what has to be cycled? I'm assuming the later but I wanted to ask.

BTW, I have a 150 gallon with a 55 gallon sump for size concerns.

I've heard that some goatfish are shy, picky eaters, which could require more feedings, but far be it from me to argue with Bob Fenner.

Reducing the nitrogen load is a good thing. All that means is your tank will have less nitrate, and by no means will it reduce it's capacity to process ammonia.
