My SCA 301 skimmer is blowing bubbles like crazy. It's creating bubble in the cup just fine, but it's also going everywhere. Does anyone know what the problem is? My tank is new if that's any help.

here's some pics

Skimmers need dissolved organics to create foam. A new tank has little to no dissolved organics so what ends up happening is that you get a lot more micro bubbles exiting the skimmer because there are no organics to allow the bubbles to stick together (foam) which helps them rise to the surface instead of blasting around the body of the skimmer and finding their way out the drain pipe. It also takes several days for a skimmer to break in. During the breakin period, it’s normal for micro bubbles to exit the skimmer so your problem is likely two fold. Give it time and it should subside. That or shut it off and let the tank cycle and once you start adding fish, then fire the skimmer up.
