So I have the reef breeders photon 32 v2+ and I am wondering what kind of schedule I should go with. Right now my light cycle is from 9 AM to 9 PM. I have it ramp up to only 30% max on the main channels at midday. I was wondering if anyone cheats more towards the blue spectrum and if anyone completely disabled the red/green which I heard was absolutely useless. Also wondering what the best schedule is for a sunrise/sunset effect.

you may get 100 different answers to this question. I know if you contact them directly Logan will help/ I have a 50 V2 over my tank and have played with the numbers on and off. I have got some advice recently from someone who has ran them successfully for awhile. They key that has worked for them is slowly ramping up to peak and run your peak settings for 5 hours.... so in your case slowly ramp up from 9 to 12, then 12-5 run peak settings, the ramp back down 6-9. I never run higher that 60% at peak but im am going to try higher, like 85%. And I run my blue channel higher. im going to peak like this: blue and violet 85%, white 65 or 70% and if I remember right do the same with red and green. I cannot say the other colors help or not but they are there so I am running them. hope it helps.

I run my RB lights from 600 to 2200 but most that time is very low intensity. My peak hours are from 1200 to 1500 and slightly less intensity for 2 hours on each side of that. Logan is working on a PAR spread sheet for the 24/48/50 lights. When that is available I intend to adjust my light intensity accordingly. Currently I am 40% on the blues and 20% on the white during peak hours. Obviously very blue, something like 20,000 kelvin.

ah perfect thats what I first ran on my 40 breeder with great success!

I ran all channels
48% max on the royal blues. Light was about 7-8 in off the water.
everything else was set in a ratio to what the royal blues were set at.
Red's/Green were set at 20% ratio of what the royal blues were
whites set at 20% ratio also
violet/cyan were set at 100% ratio

I have a spreadsheet that makes this really easy. If you want it I can email it to you if you pm me your address.
