Running a rio as the return pump, will be replacing it soon with eflux Loop DC. Running Kessil 150W and cheap current strip 48", will also be replacing with AI primes. Jeager 150W heater. Pacific sun ATO (inlcuded with Tank). Bubble Magus 5 skimmer. Waiting to hookup phosban reactor.

Plan is to stay with softies. No SPS. Looking to have a copperband as my statement fish, been looking to have one for a while. Other additions may include leopard wrasse..need to install a recessed lid though.

I REALLY like the dimensions and look of the waterbox 135, but i am pretty dissapointed in the sump setup. How are you dealing with not having a refugium? That is the main thing holding me back from making a purchase.

what lights are you running? I see the kessil.

What are you disappointed with the sump about? My brother has the 135, I can snap pics of you need to see it setup. Let me know.

Right now running an old kessil a150 and 48" current strip. Replacing them with AI primes over the next week or so.

So far the tank has far surpassed what I was expecting quality wise. Seams are great, glass is gorgeous, plumbing was straight forward and quiet.

The lack of a refugium section is what i dont like about it.

Thanks for the reply top my post, IM, Redsea etc. I was planing on asking you how the quality is with the tank & stand with your Waterbox. You mentioned having an IM tank. Do you feel the quality of fit & finish with the Waterbox is better? Did you purchase via Water box or a dealer?

Not a requirement which is why I dont see it as a true negative. But if your going for a refugium you could replace the sump? Or perhaps call and see if they will do it custom?

I purchased the waterbox through my lfs who got me a nice discount. The stand is thicker, and heavier. Also is UV coated, and overall looks better. Not that the IM stand isnt nice, or that some sort of press wood cant hold up to the weight. The IM is glossy where the waterbox is more flat. As for the tank goes, the waterbox seams are perfect from what I can see, glass is thicker and I believe starfire if not mistaken. Overflow is well put together. I would have to see the new IM to compare. I am comparing to the IM 40.

I did email them to see if i could purchase just the tank, they never replied. For me, a fuge is required.

Nitty gritty questions.
What is the overflow like? Sturdy plastic? What type of overflow? Single tubing etc? Is it quiet?
What material is the stand made of? MDF with paper etc. Does the stand come in white?

Thanks inquiring minds want to know. PS the tank look great. Thanks in advance

Overflow is thick plastic, seems very rigid. Not sure on the overflow type/name will have to look at it again. I had to use a sponge to quiet it a bit as the water in the overflow was lower than I expected. Stand does come in white, and it's multi plywood.

Herbie setup!

Nice looking tank BTW. Looks very similar to an SCA tank.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if quite a few of these tanks are all mass produced in the same Chinese manufacturing plant.

You sure the overflow isnt glass? They claim an "all glass overflow" which was one feature i really liked about it.

From the BRS pictures, it looks to be glass wrapped in plastic. Just like my SCA tank.

Let me double check when I get home on the overflow. Cant remember now that I'm not staring at it.

Overflow is glass. Purchased a red sea customizable lid so when the lights get here it should be ready.

Tank pics, new jebao pp-8 and 2 AI primes. Getting a pump soon for little fishies phosban reactor 150.

Tank is really nice. There is an overhang in the front, so when water drips down, it hangs there instead of going under the tank/stand. Flow is nice with the random wavemakers. Considering a gyre. I am still going for the minimalist as far as rockwork goes, I feel the open makes it feel more ocean like, rather than full blown reef. I also think the fish enjoy the space. I am waiting on my lfs to get a trio of leopard wrasse, or I will buy online.

Thank you!

A pic of the new phosban. Using Aquaforest phosphate minus. Thanks to all who provided suggestion on a pump for it, using the maxi jet 400, works perfect.

Actually the Red Sea Max and the WaterBox are made directly across the street from each other in China. Both high quality. I just ordered the 230.6 WB i will picture it here once it arrives and I start putting it together. Yours is looking great!
