Dosing should be keeping it stable, to state the obvious. How often are you dosing? It may need to be more frequently, daily, even multiple times a day, to keep things stable. Hard to say more with the lack of info provided. How often do you test and dose, how big are the swings, what are your parameters etc.

Thanks for the swift reply I’m guessing it’s the lack of inconsistency on my part https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180618/09e16fbb939be3ea515f267742343c0e.png

what are you doing in between those days of testing that allows the number to fall so much, and then spike?

I was trying to only dose on fridays other than that pretty much nothing just letting it ride so I’m fussing I should dose just a little everyday?

If you want stability, dosing once a week won't get you there. Daily is ideal.

I’ll start doing that for a week and I’ll report back I guess I sorta knew that I’ve just been lazy? And hoping things would just stabilized but obviously alkalinity and calcium don’t just stay stable [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I’m still proud of how far I’ve gotten this reef so far with how much people state against a Nano for a starter

Yeah 1 time a week would not allow stability. It is especially important if you have SPS corals (particularly acros).

I dose 8 times a day with an autodoser to keep alk stable at 7.5dKH. If I were to dose that amount all ot once, once a day, I am pretty sure I would lose most of my acros.

Yea, tank looks nice for sure. Definitely switch to daily though. With those SPS and LPS corals you have, you'll absolutely need the stability. That swing you posted on your chart is a good illustration of why nano isn't recommended for new reef keepers. Not saying it can't be done, just needs more baby sitting.
