Mixing Seaham Kalk and dosage amount

Hello is it a good starting point to mix only half the recommended amount and then adjust if needed?

How long sound I wait after mixing to put it to work and for the sediment to settle?

1 tsp per gallon is a reasonable starting point. Many tanks need adjustments from there, so I think that's a good plan.

I never saw much settle in my Kalk. I mixed up 5g at a time and the container would sit for a week or so before I needed it, though, so I never needed to watch closely.
