Looking at my 150gal soon to be reef and the middle brace on the top is causing a little bit of shadowing. Not a big deal, though I was wondering what the logistics of removing most of the bracket and bolting a thick piece of plexi there is. Obviously this is not a necessity, but I think it would look better. Any ideas, comments, or concerns? Anyone done it?

How does everything look with it? Maybe put the less light demanding corals under it? Don't work too hard... Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all. GL.

If done properly it should be just fine..
If not it could cause thousands of dollars in damage and more..

IMO.. If you have to ask you should just leave it alone.. ;)

I have not seen an aquarium brace that caused anymore than a minor issue.. Certainly never seen one that would cause me to take a risk over a "little bit of shadowing"

It would be better to euro brace the tank than trim down the middle brace.
