View Full Version : Clownfish starting to host torch coral. Is this bad ?

I have read the clownfish will kill the Coral .
Anyone have experience with this ? I don’t want to lose torch

I hope it is a really small torch, because if clownfish is hosting it, fish will have really hard time swimming around with torch on its back.

Now if your torch is hosting a clownfish, thats a different story ;)

It can go either way, so it is anyone's guess. There are some torches that hosted clowns for years, and they are all great, and no one suffers. On the other hand there are torches that were killed because clown was hosting in them. i dont think anyone can give you a 100% answer one way or the other.

Thing is, no one can tell you what will happen for your specific clown and your specific torch. Some had horrible luck where clown end up killing the torch. Others had great luck where both torch and clown lived happily ever after. Every fish and coral are different. Let them be, but keep an eye out on them. If you see that torch is suffering, follow ideas in links above to try to split them up.
