A couple of days ago I mixed up 75 gallons of saltwater with Red Sea Pro salt for water changes this weekend. The first two days the mixed water was clear but then I noticed a slight cloudiness. I thought it may have been the pump so I turned it off. But when I checked today it was even more cloudy. It looks like fine suspended particles that seem not to settle.

I've never seen that before.
Is this just calcium flakes?

Would you still use this water?

Could be supersaturated calcium. What do the tests show for parameters? Too many possible things and all just guessing without numbers.

Id test mag 1st since its needed to allow calcium to combine, & test calcium also. Looks like something may be low in the mix, is it a new bucket or an opened used one?

The salt came from a recently opened bag. I used some of it before in my regular saltwater mixing container. I didn't notice anything there.

I mix my kalk with ro in a jug. If I use the same jug to mix saltwater I sometimes get cloudy water
Cheers! Mark

I never mix more than 2 hours, with RSP, then I heat
To DT temp, and then deployed.

Looks like very low mag keeping CA and Alk coming together quickly.

For me I use this salt for years due to its consistency.

I would test level of mag in that batch.
