I am thinking of adding a 2.5" or 3" maxima to my 15gal nano-reef. The lighting is a PFO pendant with 175w 10k XM MH and 2 32w PC actinics. How long will it take the clam to outgrow this tank?

Any info will be appreicated.

Thanks.

Long. T.Maxima is the second slowest growing clam in the hobby... I beleive.... Or is it the first??

Not sure, but it would definetly take YEARS, YEARS, to outgrow the tank... I'm guessing... 10-15 years.. maybe even more.. I wouldn't worry about it.. It would be more likely to die from disease, or unknown causes....:p

Goodluck! Go with the 3 inch clam, anything lower depends heavily on planktonic food, meaning alot of DT feeding.. Anything bigger than 3 inches begins to rely on ligthing....

It's always good to still feed DT's though...:D
