maybe 1/2 inch. doesn't seem stressed out...just not opening.

i just got him for the past two days and have him at the bottom of the tank.

do teardrops only open a wee bit?

It tank a few days before a new clam adjust to a new condition and look their best. Show us a picture of him. He just travel 1/2 time around the workd from viet Nam to Ca. Give him a little time.
Here is my new Teardrop also. These two maxima open just about right, not over extended and not under extended.

he is in a weird hard to see orientation...

mihn...remember i posted a while back about one end my crocea receded and that a cleaner shrimp was digging in there?

well, as you may have read...the shrimp died the next da and the clams mantle has finally grown back to where it was.

so it is possible for a clam to heal after injury...i just think the chances of it are not very good...

looks fine to me. when i got mine, it took about 2 days for it to fully open.

what kind of zoo's do i see in the back there?

are they blues with a red fringe?

hmmm, looks like one could spare a few for a frag! ;)

beautiful teardrop btw. i am looking for a colored one too.
