Now I haven't seen this before but there's a shrimp (translucent with black spots) inside my clam. I didn't see it till today. I doubt it should be in there and I don't know how long it's been there but how would I get it out with causing damage? The clam is about 4" long and doesn't look stressed (yet). I would like to take a photo but I can't get a clear shot that close.

What do you think?

They are commensal to the clam, they do no harm. Leave it alone.

Ok. Not to be a wise ***, where did you see that this is a commensal shrimp? I would like to look further into this, so the more info I can get, the better.

Thanks.

It is commensal. Very similar to an anenome shrimp.

I have had them before, and a reefer here named Peabody, had one from me. Hopefully still has it.

Very cool, very hard to photo.
