Hi,
I just purchased a Tunze Stream from by LFS. I paid for the 6000 and the box says it's the 6000 BUT when I opened the box and took a look at the Stream the back label says 6100!!!!. Is the label wrong or did I get a Great Deal!!! Is there anyway knowing for sure which one it is???
Thanks!

dont worry, I also purchased a 6000 but it says 6100 on the back.
Both the 6000 and 6100 use the same pump, the difference I believe is in the transformer.

As Simonm said. The part number of an Electronic Stream motor is 6100.100 This is the same for both, a 6000 has a 12V transformer, a 6100 has a 19V transformer in USA 20V in Europe.

the transformer says 11v so I guess it is the 6000.Thanks

My bad, US is always 1V less. It has to do with power factors and Hz but it all works the same.

to upgrade the 6000 to 6100 can you just purchase a new transformer from Tunze ?
thanks.

Just curious, how much is that transformer?

You can get just the transformer simonm may have an easier time, the transformers are in short supply with Stream demand being so high and it seems to have a longer wait than getting the pumps. The bigger transformer runs about $70.

I just received the 6000 dual kit with the 7094 controller. I also decided that i could use more flow, so i ordered the 6100 transformers. now that i will have 2 spare 6000 transformes, how much are the pumps alone?
Also i was wondering if running these pumps on tide mode will decrease their life. The on and off usually shortens the life on the pumps. If i go with the more powerful 6100's then i will run them with all of the flow pushing to one side of the tank for maybe 2 hrs, then have it push to the opposite side for the other 2 hrs.
How does everyone run theirs?

Tide mode will not harm the electronic pumps, electronic pumps have the benefit of the computer controlling the pump rotation and stopping the pump and sounding an alarm if anything were to go wrong.

Thanks for the info. This will be good to know when I go to a larger tank.
Any updates on when the 6000's will be coming in?

Yes, good news and bad news. I will get 50 6000 on Friday and these will go to dealers the same day, so if your order is maybe within the first 15 pumps sold by each dealer you will get a pump in a few weeks. I have 100 pumps still on backorder and I get the feeling they are short the transformers for US product as we still struggle to catch up with the fast growing US market. I know you get tired of hearing excuses but the market in the US has grown 300% per year for Tunze in the past 2 years and this has been an incalculable growth. Growth in Europe, Asia and Africa has continued at about 15% per year in addition so we have trouble to keep up. We projected a 10% annual growth so you can see we were a bit off in our figures.

Well I am supposed to be first on PA's list so I guess that means my odds are pretty good. They are getting some of your first shipment aren't they?
