Her's a pic of my T. squamosa that's been in my smaller tank for a little over a year. I have not kept track (silly me) of exact growth, but it appears to have grown maybe close to an inch in that time (i could be wrong..need to start taking out the ruler). It's in a 29 gallon with 2 x 24W 50/50 PC's and 1 X 55W 10,000K PC. It's eventually going in my 58 once it is matured to my satisfaction. I feed DT's, but a bit sporadically. What kind of growth do squamosa keepers see in their clams?

Very nice squamosa, David. I don't measure the growth rate of my squamosa with any instrument other than my eyes. I've noticed that feeding phytoplankton to my aquarium speeds up the rate it deposits shell significantly. {See pic of this clam in link}:

Thanks Gary,

You have got one big squamosa there. How long did it take to grow that size?

Here's two size comparison pics. First, a pic of the clam in May 2003:

Here's a quick pic I snapped just this morning {Feb. 2004}:
In the second pic taken today, you can see that I'm rapidly running out of room for my clam.
