Water Softner W/ RO/DI

Had a general question:

We already have a water softner, will that lengthen the time between membrane changes? Will this help with overall water quality pre RO/DI? Would it cause any problems? Thanks.

It is always good to have a water softener, regardless of what you may have heard on the internet. It will most decidedly lengthen membrane life. You will have a lower TDS/PPM coming out of the membrane and going to the DI. That will lengthen the life of the DI.
Problems? None that I know of.
