My monster gold bar maroon (monster = size (7") + attitude (man biter)) knocked over a sps frag onto my 5" squamosa clam and it ripped a part of the edge off the side....will this hurt it or will it heal?
I've attatched a picture.

It looks like the mantle has pinched back a bit in the area it was damaged. I'm willing to bet it'll be fine. I see new shell growth which means the clam was already healthy.
I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Put a leash on the maroon!
It will be fine. I cut off sections of mantle ~1cm to breed clams.
It takes a couple of months to grow back. That injury looks much less severe.

And it's not a squamosa,it's a derasa clam.

Looking through some online pictures, it looks like you are definitely right, it is a deresa!!
Well I'm glad to hear that it should be alright...he grows so rapidly, he's definitely fun to watch and show off
