I would like to place a small calm in my nanocube. I have 2x24 watt PC. Is there any type of clam I can purchase?

Hate to say it, but you would be limited to H. Hippopus, but even then I wouldn't do it. The lighting is not near enough to even keep a crocea or maxima alive, and while a small derasa or squamosa might live, the grow way too fast, put too much of a CA/ALK strain on a small system, and require more stable salinity and temp. than most nanos have.
You could try a small Hippopus (be sure to feed him live phyto!) but still, I think even that would be best left out of the system.
Best of luck!

I agree with Peaboday. That isn't enough light to support a clam. If you get lucky it MIGHT live but probably wouldn't be happy.

I have a baby maxima in my 6gallon nano under 65watts of PC and it's doing great it will go in my 55 under the MH's in a few weeks though.

dunno about the light, won't be able to do maxima or crocea for sure
and i think the water params would fluctuate to much in a nano for a clam to do well
u can always try and if it starts to die give it away

No, that wouldnt' be reccomended....clams look great and then they die in the blink of an eye....there's no withering and slowly looking worse for them.

I went with a 70w MH and 36w actinic to keep a crocea down the road in my 10g nano.

I have a peristalic pump. It doesn't fail and nuke your tank like a float switch can, and keeps the Salinity ROCK steady! :)

Also the amount of light needed is often shown by the color of the mantle... so blue/purple need much more light than gold/brown mantles. For example squamosa or gold maxima need less light.

for top off, i use agu's diy kalk dripper at night. i have a hippopus in a 10g under coralife's 96w powerquad.

At the moment, I just drip in RO every couple days. I don't really have room for an auto top-off, but maybe someday...
