If you have a Peacock mantis can you put a starfish or maybe a damsel fish or two in the same habitat?

I know that smashers for the most part like hard shelled mollusks and I have also read that they generally stay away from fish. However in the marine hobby there is no such thing as "rules" but more like "guidlines" :pirate

Would it be possible to keep those with a mantis?

I always say that if you put something in a tank with a mantis expect to find it dead or eaten the next day. If he gets hungry enough he will probably eat the damsels. If you get one that's really really aggressive it may even attack the starfish.

my mantis is about 3-4 inches big. he's never touched my starfish or damsel. they are all in a small 10 gallon tank.

Goldberg, what kind of mantis is it? It's possible to do it I'm just saying that don;t count on it. "Don;t leave a small child alone with a large large dog," said my mother after 3 kids in my neighborhood got mauled by their respective dogs.

Unless that's a G. Chiragra r a comparably mean and larger mantis it won;t bite off more than it can chew. I've personally never seen a smaller mantis like what you have attack anything larger than a quarter it's size.

I have a 6" O. scyllarus in a 20 gallon with 4 - 1" green chromis. It has been 2 weeks and so far she does not show any interest in them. She is fed every day or so, usually with frozen shrimp. But lately... she has been going after the chromis' flakes... has anyone seen that before?
