Hello, I have a 46 gallon bowfront tank with 2 96 watt Power Compact lights. I know most clams need metal halide, but I have read that many derasas can do well under PCs...is this true? Could I potentially put one in my tank? Also, are there any other clam species that I could potentially keep (such as squamosa)?

Thanks,
Kayla

T.derasa and T.squamosa will be find under your lighting. True that the T.maxima and T.crocea should be kept under more intense lamps.

Thanks for the info. What should I provide for them (besides the light for photosynthesis) to support their growth? Thanks.

I would recommend one that is 3+ or better. Also keep you ca over 400.

Do some good reading about keeping clams before going out to purchase one. :) Make sure your other tank animals are compatable with keeping clams.
