copper and macro-micro algae will it die?

In my QT i have some great rock with nice twiggy/leafy algaes growing on them, will these die if i add cupramine copper to the tank to treat oodinium?

I have heard that copper will kill the plant life. And even if it doesn't, the plant life will filter out the copper reducing its effectiveness.

What would be really really ironic is that some macros do increase the immunity of fishes. So it s possible the macros themselves could "treat" the oodinium.
