Wow that's a great link!!!! What's the limit on "small" -- the only goby I've got is a firefish. He's probably 2"

Thanks Greg. He is/was one of my favourite. RIP

Thats my old ywg (i hate the word old :( )

http://server5.uploadit.org/files/ozadars-ywgcls.jpg

Hope this ywg is not too big for this category  but an engineer goby reaches a foot, a ywg gets only 3" ;)

Ozadars, Thanks for the name too, I had seen your avatar before and thought that was a beautiful guy, but never knew what he was!!

No problem but my very dirty keyboard's is not working really well especially the letter "C" is hard to push so it didnt appeard in the name. The correct name is Gobiodon albofasciatus.
I need to clean the keyboard or buy a new one.

That is too funny, I have the same problem (with my space bar though). But regardless I found your guy in the link that Greg gave - your picture is a thousand times better, maybe you should send yours to them (since they call themselves "goby freaks", maybe they would appreciate it?)

That's 'cause the Mandarin isn't actually a Gobiod, rather a Dragonet from the family Callionymidae. Synchiropus splendidus is just typically misnomered as a goby. Just an FYI moment for ya. They are beautiful fish though!!!!

I spend some time infront of the tank and want to show you the results:

This is "right" infront of his home until last night:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_r1.jpg

Sometimes the gobie goes up 2-4 cm on the rocks, but never leaves the sand

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_r3.jpg

"Left" is much more shy and does not like to pose for the camera:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_p4.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_p.jpg

I added a few day ago 4 more Alpheus randalli and should now have 2 of the red / white coloration and 4 of the red / yellow coloration. Since that "left" has his pistol shrimp too and gained much more confidence. Both of them are also more out during the daytime now and feed on frozen mysis.

Here they are together now on the left side of the tank.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_p1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_p2.jpg

In interaction the switch the middle part of the body white to impress other fish and even their own kind. Also note the open mouth of "right"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_p3.jpg

As my file fish is bothering the Alpheus they are shy - and he is not willing to be catched, but I keep on trying. Here the shrimp is securing the area

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_r6.jpg

And a second later cover by a sand storm caused by the little alpheus which you can see in the background

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/reefsafe/Gobies/flabelligobius_r7.jpg

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Hey, just a newbie here!

I have a Yellow Watchman that I wanted to get paired up with my pistol shrimp. They may be from different regions, as they don't seem to want to hang out together...they are oblivious to each other. They are both still very cool seperately. The Watchman is only about 2" long and he enjoys tasting the sand and digging little holes for himself.

When I brough the Watchman home, he was a beautiful bright yellow...as seen here:
http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SQDtAu4Uo!njvw7kk*314vMQyesxkqfEWgg2Ca*2pGP7iGssc9LMd81pHh0pYOx56xlLjw8O4J9CmDsS!wjvPgKneizdnikIpBC tPMyLR!i2EU9K8loKfA/PDR_0120.JPG?dc=4675546171183953289

Then as time wore on...he changed color...to this...
http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0TQDiAtQVAEM817LAFRrQj3j0oF3AKlSnSDOsjKMH3wg!Yq069WCBVh8pWdNndEv1V8cKNoXGQ1FDPw8QVX5cQEmh8GsDxpyxwWW sDBNDfu8kbD0Aex5A1g/PDR_0925.JPG?dc=4675546172914888739

I'm not sure of an explanation for this...I've been told that maybe the Red Fairy Wrasse pestering him may have made him turn to female...if this is even possible.

Figured this would be an interesting addition to this "little gobies" thread!

Sorry my pix aren't working...I can't quite figure out why???!!! Anyone got suggestions?
