So after almost 1 full year of having my TBS 50 gallon package in a 50 gallon tank, I upgraded to a nice 120 (48x24x24). I made an external overflow on it to help keep more room on the inside, but I didnt drill for the closed loop (too chicken, and impatient... you try grinding 3/8" glass LOL... takes FOREVER with a dremmel). My next tank will be custom built with all the drilling done for me. Anyway, here is a pic. Remember, this is only the 50 gallon package worth of rock ~100 lbs. IMO this is exactly how I want it. This leaves alot of room for my fish to swim, and they seem considerably happier, and alot of room for corals to grow. I did loose the yellow/red tree sponge due to a mini cycle about 4 months ago (my fault heh), but I have found some of it's species growing in new places, which can only be a good thing considering how had they are to keep, let alone reporduce.

I do have a small hair alge problem, but that is primarily due to my belief in heavy feeding and lack of a seperate refuge (which will be remedied very shortly).

A couple things to note, my 3 urchins are doing great and just keep on getting bigger and getting more spines. Also, I got a beautiful red open brain looking type coral (not sure the species) that poped up on a muscle heh. Speaking of which, I have only lost 1 or 2 bivalves out of easily 15+

One last thing, as you can see the rocks that Richard sent me are quite large and couldnt have been more perfect! Thanks again Richard.

Daz, looks pretty good though (in my personal opinion) I think it needs a "leetle" more rock. I'm coming to the conclusion that a more open lay out is much better. Is that tang helping much on the hair algae front?

Thx doc =).

This weekend I will be getting 8 to 10 SPS frags and 1 or 2 LPS frags so I want a nice large area for them to really grow into. Also, the tang is out all day now instead of hiding most of the time before. He does pick at it a little, but he is mostly spoiled with what I feed the tank. I didnt buy him to eat the hair alge and I dont expect him to. I know it is there because I have other issues I need to take care of.

Wooo Dazz, you got enough jets flowing into that monster? What is that, about 15???

I am actually going to be getting rid of most of my urchins. I am getting tired of them "rearanging" my landscaping, although they are cool. Also I have heard that they can be detremental to the development of coraline algae. Of course it would probably help if I didn't have like 8 of them...
