I have a gold maxima in a 90 gallon tank that has not extended its mantle for the last 3 days. I also have 3 other maximas and 2 croceas, that are all doing fine. Anyone have an idea as to why just the one would close up? It is sitting right next to two other maximas (gold & ultra blue) that are happy as, well..clams.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any predators? (pyramid snails, fish (such as angels), etc..

I have been watching for pyramid snails, and have not seen any.

All fish are clam friendly, and pretty docile. Most agressive is the Regal Tang and she is never near the clams.

I have noticed that my Lawnmower Blenny likes to perch on the Maxima. This causes it to close up, but then it re-opens to it's barely extended position after the fish leaves. This happens once or twice a day that I am aware of.

Any thoughts?
