Can you give me a few differences between these pumps? From what I can see on your site they appear to give the same flow but one is almost 1/2 the cost of the other. Any info you could offer would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris, The basic difference between the "Dart", Barracuda, and Hammerhead to the Manta Ray and Tiger Shark is the motor.

The Barracuda and Hammerhead use a 34-frame Baldor motor. The 34-frame Baldor motors are a common and highly produced motor. Most of the components require a human operating a machine to produce the make part. The specs for that motor are a NEMA, TEFC (which mean, Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) We have the motor bodies made from extruded aluminum with cooling fins along the entire diameter of the motor. This helps with taking the heat out of the internal parts of the motor fast. We also include double sealed bearings with all high quality internal components.
Please call or E mail for our monthly specials on Sequence pumps.

Any reason why the Stingray was replaced by the Barracuda? TIA

The new line now encompasses the "Dart","Barracuda" and "Hammerhead"(newer version). The Sting Ray was offered as a less expensive alternative, but now has been discontinued. if you have any further questions, you can E mail me directly at acropora@optonline.net.

I called MDM Inc. the other day and asked them that same question. they said that when they upgraded their reeflo series pumps with the TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) motors they changed the names of the pumps as well. so basically they are the same pump with a slight modification and different name.

Goby they may appear to be the same because they have the same flow rates. However the new Sequence Reeflo Series pumps ,as stated above, are made from a TEFC motor. This motor is quieter and cooler then the previous line.

So were they having heat issues with the older models?
