Roger,
If you have the picture stored at Photobucket or another internet photo hosting site, just select the photo, right click, go down to properties and select that, then copy the URL, come back to RC, type your post, then when you are ready to post the photo, type Then paste the photo, and type after the url is posted.
That's how mine work.
Hope that helps.

Beautiful vlamingi.
How long have you had it?
How many inches is he?
All of my tangs are peacful the orangesholder is very active. My big boy is around 9 to 10 inches I got him around 2 1/2 years ago he was smaller than my flame angle. If you want to see how active tangs are put them in a 8 foot tank.

This shot was taken over a year ago, but I thought I'd post it anyway, I think it's a neat shot. I don't have my tangs anymore, or a tank at all - tore it down last year, in the process of setting up a new one. The tangs are now living in a friend's 200 gallon tank. A bit more room than they had in my 90. I sure miss this guy, though, he was my favorite

I think this is an acanthurus nigrofuscus. Fairly uncommon, but not rare if that makes any sense. I see them ever now and then.
I am 85 % sure. Did you get any other potential ids?
Isn't this the other Powder Brown Tang, something like Japonicus (sp?). There is always some confusion between these two, but that is my understanding.

BlueNwhite, you are correct that is an acanthurus japonicus, aka white faced tang, both a.japonicus and a.nigrofuscus are ( mistakedly) called powder browns.

That is really funny because I went to the crater last year. I did see a ton of Nasos and a few yellows. I guess I scared off all of the Achellies

You can find Gem Tangs at the Marine Center occasionally for a few hundred bones.
The last ones the Marine Center had were years ago and they were $1800... the fish is even tougher to find now...
Anyway, here's my group, with at least the second rarest Zebrasoma... Z. rostratum... the black tang, much tougher to get nowadays than even a couple of years ago, but nothing like the gem... another notable is the goldrim/powder blue hybrid...

hey copps, i absolutely love those pics!!! the colors are unreal! Love the regals, how long have you had them? I really want one.
I've had the trio for almost a year and a half, although my original regal was in my 65 in my old apartment in this system (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-09/totm/index.php) ... There's an excellent thread that's been going on for years about regal angels that's like 70 pages long... I've contributed to that from page two and it's got excellent firsthand information... a disclaimer that should be put everywhere is that this fish should be left for the experienced aquarist... misinformation regarding this fish is that only "1 in 100" or something like that feed and survive... This is simply not true, although it is accurate for those that use what I call the "dump and hope" approach, where people take a delicate fish shipped halfway around the world and throw it in their display expecting it to outcompete and feed with fish that are established and aggressive... the misinformation with quarantine is that it is solely to keep foreign disease out of the display... to me that is at the bottom of the list, and my personal opinion is that a tank full of healthy fish in a stable system could fight off MOST maladies that come in... In the right hands the majority of regals could settle in and do well...
Anyway, back on the topic of tangs... did you get your black tang locally thor?

It's around 3.5". Ive had it for only about 3 months. I got it from a guy who had to take his tank down because he was moving and couldnt take it with him and he had it for around 2 years maybe 3. Its definitly my favorite fish. Very healthy too.
