i just found my way to this web page and am amazed to see a discussion forum devoted to cephalopods. i myself have a 125 gallon tank housing a day octopus (cyanea) who is a little over a foot long. he was hand caught, as was everything in my tank, and is making a very good pet. i am glad to see this vast pool of knowledgeable people. i must say that i have kept a lot of strange sea creatures, but nothing compares to my octopus. :)

Ahh, must be nice to live in Hawaii. I have wanted a O. cyanea for a long time. What a beautiful octo and they get BIG!!!!! Good thig you have a large tank! They are one of the best skin texture and color changers in the ceph kingdom. You must send some pics. Try feeding them some clams, I bet it will have the strength to rip them right open with out drilling. Keep us informed, please!
