View Full Version : Great Corals (Very Hardy Too)

A couple of weeks ago I ordered several coral frags from http://www.ReefScience.com. They were well packaged and included 2 operational heat packs, but the unusually cold weather resulted in some concern regarding the water temperature in the coral bags. Each of the following was in a separate bag.

- A. millepora
- Blue Thin Branch Acropora sp.
- Scroll Coral
- Turquoise Stag, Thin Branching

The coral frags looked good but the water temperature inside the bags ranged from 47.2 to 48.8 degrees Fahrenheit. The packaging was fully intact and the two heat packs were functional. The temperature on the morning of delivery was 14 degrees and at the time the package was delivered it was 26 degrees.

Apparently ReefScience has some very hardy corals, as each one is doing very well, showing great polyp extension and color.

This was a real test of the coral’s ability to handle stress...I can't believe that they came through this so well.

Thanks Chad...I'll definitely order from you again!
