Hello, I have a new propagation system that is L8'xW4'xH3'. How many boxes would I need? Would I get movement at 3 feet deep? How high of a wave would this generate? Any other suggestions to maximize movement are appreciated. Here is a picture on the system in production: http://phishybusiness.com/images/corals/Picture38.jpg
Thank you,
Phishy

How thick is the material and can it be drilled? Nice prop facility BTW. What particular corals are grown in this system?

Phishy,
Love the tank for propagation, and the Geo skimmer, he is building me one right now 3 pumps (needwheel) and 12 in in diameter,, I have to ask are you tanks built out of wood and then just painted with the epoxy paint, or did you lay some fiberglass in there too...
by the way nice looking setup you have nice and need I always hated those reef shops where everything is cobbled looks great..

rvitko,
Hello, the material is 3/4" plywood and can be drilled if needed. This system will only be used for SPS propagation. What are your ideas on the wave box?
windgod,
Yes, tanks are wood with the 2 part epoxy paint. Thank you for the props....You gotta love those GEO skimmers!
Thanks,
Phishy

The wavebox would be good for this set up, you would need an extension box for the volume, I assume you have a closed loop so this may be all the flow you need. If not you might want to add a Stream 6200 or two.
Really nice prop set up, I am very impressed. It obviously isn't the typical warehouse operation. It is very tidy.

rvitko,
Yes, I have 2 closed loops powered independantly by AMP Master 3000s. A spray bar on the surface and a spray bar on the bottom, opposite end. The spray bars face each other creating a strong rotating circulation in the tank. Will these spray bars cause any problems for the wave box if they are constantly running? Which side would you put the wave box on? Thanks for all your help.
windgod,
I am going to run six 400DE 10ks. This configuration of pendants should be nice and bright with full coverage.
Thank you,
Phishy

I calculate the volume at 720gals. You need at a minimum the Wavebox and one Extension. I would place them both on the same side, either side will get the same result, it needs to be aimed lengthwise.
