I have a Reef Controller . I got it for Xmas. It has worked great.
But today the power went out becasue of freezing rain. When the power came back on 5 minutes later I checked the tank and noticed my skimmer did not turn back on or my refugium pump. At first I thought it was the pumps were bad, then I relized the power lights for the set plugs were not lit. I checked all settings and found the reef controller did not save any of my settings and the factory settings were restored. This is terrible, does this not save the settings I store if it loses power? No flash memory?
I hope this is not just the way it is and there is something that can be done to fix it to save settings if it loses power.
Please help.
Thank you.

I just read the thread about the problem with the battery.
I checked my Reef Controller, it is Version 1.1
My wife got ths for me in December.
Why would the stores still be sellling this defective version???
I have sent Digital an email, please send me a corected version asap.
I got this to protect my tank, not make it a danger.
I am trieing very hard to not express how mad I am right now.:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

Tony,

I replied to your email, and as I mentioned, we can trade out your remote display, no problem. I will send you another email with the details. As far as we know, there are no old/bad ReefKeepers at any stores anymore, and won't be from here on out.

I had v1.1 also. but never had the problems with the remote resetting after a power outage..I repeattedly unplugged my unit and left it unplugged for several minutes, and it would always go back to my settings. I think the guyz at DA will also agree that not all the units with V1.1 are suspect to this problem, it's obviously sparatic. There advice to me was to trade out my original remote with V1.1, and swap it for a new remote with V1.4..even though there was nothing wrong with mine. they sent me the new remote, while I was still using my original, this way I wouldn't have to be without one for any period of time...and even paid for the shipp'n...these guyz at DA go well above and beyond the call to satify the customer...
