problems with ballast again

"For IceCap 660 ballast 3 & 4 lamp applications, revision "F" ballast's don't always dim well, and may shut down your lamps if not given the "Dimmer Update". Symptoms that are visible are that the dimming occurs rapidly over a short period of time or that the lamps will shut off on dim up. Icecap does this update free of charge." it says about the solar dimmers i use the 660 and use 4 bulbs are theysaying it would be better to use 2 660's with 2 bulbs each


my ballast has the f revision and sinc ei sent it in to you for repairs i guess it is uptodate. I need input on this.

I am veryconfused since logicaly the dimmer has 2 wires that hook up to red and ornge on the icecap harnes you'd think it could only handle 2 bulbs...

If you sent the ballast to us for repair and stated you were using a dimmer or requested a dimmer modification then it should be done. Check the serial number label and see if it says dim or dim modified. It is possible I did the modification but did not put the notation on the label. The solar dimmer is capable of dimming 4 lamps.

yes i know it is capable but i was asking if it would be alittle better since i would be taking the load off each ballast ( and the 2 wires from dimmer will touch all the bulbs instead of just 2)

it says f/dim ... or somthing like that ... on thte site it says the f revision dosnt work to great is there a "g" revision

All our 660 ballasts are revision "F". The revision has nothing to do with the dimmer modification. Where your ballast says Revision F / Dim then it has the dimmer modification.
As to why there are only 2 wires spliced in to the harness, contact the dimmer manufacturer and they can answer those questions for you.

well this time i will be using 2 ballast to help take the load off of the dimmer and all i hope it works ( buying a new icecap ballast today :)
