The specifications say that the amps used by this ballast is 4.4. Is that the max it will ever use, including start-up? Or is it likely to pull more than that when it first starts?

I am asking because I have two of them, which would total 8.8 amps, and was wondering if I could plug them both through a 10 amp noise filter. When they are both on I sometimes have problems with X-10 signals. The problem goes away when they are off.

We use a delayed fuse to avoid it blowing with the initial inrush of current. That only lasts a second though. Are both ballasts started at the same time? If not, there's no issue.

If they do, call (800-742-3227) or e-mail IceCap Service Service@icecapinc.com or Chris at Chris@icecapinc.com .

Yes, they do start at the same time right now. I could delay one for a few minutes if that will solve a potential problem.

I would stagger them to be on the safe side.
