I have a 660 ballast on two 72" vho's, I need to send the 660 in for a D & C, Can I unplug it and plug in my 440 ballast using the 660 harness? Or do I have to rewire it with the 440 harness? These ballasts are 7 to 10 yrs. old
Thanks

If you plug the 430 into the 660 harness only one of the two lamps will light. To make them both work you will need to wire up the 430 harness.

So there is no way I can rewire the 660 harness if connected to the 440 to light both bulbs. The 440 harness will be hard to disconnect from my other tank, I don't want to cut the wires on the 440 harness. If I can what color wires do I use of the 440 on a 660 harness to light both bulbs? If I just switch and use one bulb will it hurt anything?
Thanks

Using one bulb will not hurt anything at all.
If you really need both bulbs you can do a thorough check of your 430 harness and note which wires are used and what slots in the harness connector they are located. Then you could find the matching wire slots in the 660 harness and rewire the system as for a 430. It may be confusing as the wire colors do not match up the same for a 430 and 660 harness. If you are very careful it can be done.
