Anemone eating itself?

I thought my BTA was splitting two days ago but seems like I was wrong. I've had him for over 10 months with no problems and this weekend he scrunched himself on the bottom of the tank inbetween some rock which led me to believe he was going to split. Since then nothing really has happened but I did get a good look at what seems to be about a quarter of his disk in his mouth. This has been like this for about a day 1/2 now. Besides hiding on the bottom, he looks healthy and I see no deteriation.
Has anyone come accross this before?

The same thing has been happening to my RBTA for about a week now. Some of it's tenticles are inside the mouth and it's not eating. What ever happened with your's?
