View Full Version : Tacky Question

Hi there. Here's a somewhat tacky question: Why should I spend $99 each for replacement membranes for my CSP-DI (90gpd, will need two) when I can get 100 gpd thin film membranes from under $30 each from iWF? If you can tell me what additional performance I'm paying for, I'd be happy to pay for better product from SP.
(If you think this is too tacky of a question and want to go "offline" with the answer, feel free to email me at [email protected]

First of all, Filmtec 100 GPD membranes are not true Reverse Osmosis membranes. They utilize nano-filtration membrane material, resulting in significantly lower rejection and consequently, much reduced deionization cartridge life. Many reefers have learned the hard way that $$ saved on the membrane results in many more $$ spent on replacement DI cartridges.
SpectraPure tests membranes to insure that only the highest performance membranes are shipped to the customer . We routinely reject and return back to the supplier a fairly large number of membranes each month that do not meet our stringent specifications.
Additionally, SpectraPure maintains a Customer Service department for service after the sale to help assure that each customer obtains the maximum performance from their system.

SpectraPure's customer service routinely provides service and engineering analysis for all makes and models, not just our products.
