How to place my new clam in the tank

I would like to know if any one could suggest the best way to place my clam in the tank. It is a deresa about 3 inches in lenght.

Should I try to bury him in the sand or just lay him on his side?

You want the mantle facing upwards towards the light, try pushing it down just a little bit in the sand..or leaning it agenst some live rock. Im not sure if deresa will atach to rock or a small shell like maximas and croceas do?

I have one in the sand, and one on the rocks. deresa's can attatch to the rocks.

Depends on what kind of lighting you have? Deresa's tend to need less light than Crocea's or Maxima's ... but this is, of course, relative. ;)
