My problem is that the reefkeeper only has 8 plugs while I have a need for 11.

Here is what I have PLUGS for:

3 for 3x250 watt metal halides
1 for 2x165 watts of VHO
1 for led night lights
2 for 2x250 watt heaters
2 for 120 watt filter and 130 watt skimmer pumps
2 for seio powerheads

I see that the Reefkeeper is rated for 1800W (15A) total power, 720W (6A) per channel.

Is it possible to run a outlet splitter on the Reefkeeper so I can put both heaters on one channel and all the halides on one channel? That would put on channel over the 720 watt limit just barely. This setup would be ideal but I think I might be drawing too much power from the Reefkeeper. Any clever ideas on what I should do?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!:D

You can group like equipment to the same outlet like you suggested. If you have any equipment that is "always on" like a filter pump, or something that dosnt need to be controlled by the reefkeeper, then you can relocate that to a normal power strip.

The only thing I would do is try and not exceed the max capacity of watts per channel. You do not want to over load that socket and cause a possible fire.

I am running all of my heaters on one plug, with a powerstrip. 150x3+250 (700w) and have not had a problem. Of course with that much heater going at once, they don't stay on for very long, but it can be done. I was thinking about running the halides on one outlet, but I have them timed to come on 15 minutes apart.
