Hi,

I just got my shipment of two Tunze Stream Pumps, but I'm confused about something....

The sticker on the outside of the Tunze box is printed with "6000" and the sticker that is actually on the back of the pump says "6100.10" ......

So do I have 6000's or 6100's ?

Thanks

how big around is the black potted power supply? That's the only real difference between the two.

Well, I'd have to say about 3" around and maybe 2" high or so ? Sorry no ruler nearby

Sticker on the power says:

Art.Nr.7210.202A if that helps

That's the same number as my 6000 power supply. The 6100's are slightly larger (say 4.5" around).

whew, OK thanks! Though I'm starting to think it wouldn't have been a *bad* thing to get 6100's in place of 6000's...

I'm counting on the "660-1849gph" of the 6000 instead of the whopping "1,056-3,170gph" of the 6100's!

I went down the same road when I bought my 6000. I thought they had made a mistake in my favour and sent me a 6100.

I have found out that the only difference between the 6000 and the 6100 is the suplpy transformer.

Tunze will sell you the 6100 transformer to upgrade your 6000, but it is not cheaper then just buying the 6100.

But here's something Tunze probably dont want you to know. You can upgrade your 6000 to a 6100 by simply replacing the transformer with one bought from any electronics shop. All you need is a center tap transformer at the same voltage as the 6100's. Tunze use a toroidal transformer which is, from the control box's point of view, the same as any normal transformer. The toroidal transformer only differs in that it is smaller and more efficient, but that would only affect your power bill not your pump.
